The Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Mr Andries Nel will attend the Sibikwa Arts Centre’s 30th Anniversary Celebration.
Sibikwa has used the arts as a tool for community development and has served the community by inspiring, nurturing and empowering young and old through arts. It has for the past decades preserved and celebrated South African Heritage and has trained countless young people from impoverished backgrounds in the performing arts in order that they may be employable.
The Deputy Minister will be expected to address the value of arts in nation building and social cohesion within communities and the contribution community arts centres can make to the Integrated Urban Development Framework.
