Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities lead Silent Walk and Run, 16 Sept

Department of Women, Youth Children and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) invite media to the 7th Annual Silent Walk & Run event taking place on the 16 September 2023 in Marks Park Sports Ground, Emmarentia Johannesburg. Silent Walk is an awareness campaign aimed at amplifying and showcasing support for persons with disabilities and removing barriers perpetuated by stigmatization and discrimination of people with disabilities. To ensure sustainable collaborations with the stakeholders in disability sector organizations.

Venue: Marks Park Sports Ground (Emmarentia Johannesburg).

The event is coordinated and organized by NEEMA Foundation and the DWYPD will join the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Health and Social Development in the City of Johannesburg; Cllr Ennie Makhafola, CEO of Safer South Africa; retired General Riah Phiyega, an anti-drug and social activist from Yellow Ribbon Foundation, Charlene Roberson from Tears Foundation and China Mashinini, the Acting Head of Department at the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture & Recreation.
