Department to raise awareness on 16 Days of Activism in the Free State

The Department of Police, Roads and Transport in the Free State will embark on a massive campaign to create awareness on the abuse of women and children in the Province during the 16 Days of Activism for no violence against Women and children.

The department has scheduled four activities at the three districts in the province with the aim to encourage communities to actively participate in social crime prevention initiatives and to create awareness and education on crimes relating to women and children.

For the past years the 16 Days of Activism campaign has marked activities around the world to end gender violence. The campaign has been used to create a global movement to raise awareness, to address policy and legal issues, to campaign for the protection of survivors of violence and to call for the elimination of all forms of gender violence.
