Gauteng MEC for Health, Hope Papo will tomorrow officially open the Carolina Ferrera Daez Palliative care unit in the breast cancer clinic at Helen Joseph Hospital in Auckland Park.
The unit will create an opportunity to raise awareness about breast cancer within the communities serviced by the hospital and improve the quality of service delivery in the province.
The unit will be opened jointly with the Breast Health Foundation to implement support with a smile which entails palliative care, provision of medical compliments to minimize side effects of chemotherapy, counseling and prevention and awareness.
