The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation together with Lejweleputswa Sport and Recreation Council will be hosting the District Youth Camp on the 23 to 25 June 2013.
The Youth Camp is an initiative of the Minister for Sport and Recreation, Mr. Fikile
Mbalula with the aim of empowering the Youth, building strong team spirit and
promoting social cohesion amongst the youth aged 18 to 25.
This age group is targeted as most of societies pressures falls upon them. Pressures such as drugs, crime, gangsterism and peer pressure.
The youth camp aims to reach youth from the different backgrounds and different
races in the following categories:
Former convicts
Survivors of sexual abuse
Drug abuse
Youth from farm dwellings
Political activist from NGO’s.
The youth camp will be hosted as follows:
Date: 23 to 25 June 2013
Time: 06:00 – 21:00 each day
Venue: Amanzi Game Reserve in Brandfort. (Masilonyana Municipality)
