The Department of Environmental Affairs invites members of the media to the National Environmental Debate competition that will take place in Durban on 2 July 2014.
The debate creates an opportunity for grade 8 and 9 learners to debate on environmental issues that have an impact on their social livelihood and the natural environment. As such, this competition will strengthen and support educational processes in South Africa.
The debate is designed to allow the learners to improve their skills in the areas of leadership interpersonal influence, team building, problem solving and oral presentation. The best speakers from the regional debate sessions will represent their respective provinces at the competition.
