Department of Environmental Affairs to host stakeholder forum on Air Quality in Durban South

The Department of Environmental Affairs will on Friday, 19 September 2014, host a meeting with stakeholders on air quality and pollution issues in the Durban South basin. The meeting is being convened to address complaints by environmental groups and residents on the quality of air in the area. The meeting will be co-hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs and Rural Development and eThekwini Municipality.

The National Air Quality Officer, Dr Thulie Mdluli, will be in attendance and a report on the current state of air in Durban South will be presented. Amongst those expected to attend, include industry roleplayers, environmental lobby groups and members of the community.
