The Department of Basic Education will commemorate the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2013 at Phineas Xulu Secondary School in Vosloorus on Saturday, 8 July 2013.
Following the successful handover of a memorandum by the learners of Phineas Xulu Secondary School in Vosloorus on Friday, 31 May 2013 the department will be joined by learners, parents’ teachers, Vosloorus SAPS as well as representatives of UNICEF.
The Department of Basic Education aims to ensure that all learners in the system are firmly aware and actively involved in the departments Drug and Alcohol Prevention program. The importance of partnering with schools, SGB’s, communities, SAPS and stakeholders needs to be reaffirmed and having these partners present at the event serves to solidify relations between all parties.
