The Department of Arts and Culture will host a special Nelson Mandela Memorial Concert on Wednesday, 11 December 2013 at the Market Theatre in Newtown.
The concert, which forms part of the Arts and Culture sector's tribute to the former statesman, will feature a range of South African artists. Mandela's contribution to our struggle for freedom and democracy will be marked through song, dance, storytelling and theatrical performances.
The artist line up for the Market Theatre concert will include an intergenerational mix of performers including South African Poet Laureate Prof. K W Kgositsile, Sello Maake ka Ncube, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Malcolm Purkey and Fiona Ramsey.
Members of the media are all invited to attend.
