Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to launch report on status of the South African Marine Fishery Resources

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will launch the Status of the South African Fishery Resources 2012 Report on Thursday, 27 December 2012.

The report presents the most up-to-date information and analyses of the status of the marine living resources in the 17 fishery sectors in South Africa.
The fisheries sector is worth around R6 billion per annum and directly employs, in the commercial sector, around 27 000 people.
