Defence holds Exercise Young Eagle Open Day, 20 Aug

Exercise Young Eagle Open Day will be held on Thursday, 20 August 2015 at SA Army Comb at Training Centre (CTC), Lohatlha.

The SA Army airborne and landward operations capability force is currently underway together with elements from other arms of service at SA Army Combat Training Centre and De Brug (Bloemfontein).

This is an exclusive SA Army training exercise which tests the combined might of the SA Army and the SA Air Force in a full scale air-and land assault capability demonstration that is vital  in  ensuring that the SANDF timeously responds to domestic  and continental security challenges.

The exercise consists of the country’s landward forces executed by the expertise of 44

Parachute  Regiment, 9 South African Infantry Battalion, 1 Special Services Battalion, 2 Field  Engineer Regiment, 10 Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Light Artillery Regiment, 1 Tactical Intelligence Regiment, SA Special infantry Capability, 1 Signal Regiment, 102 Field Workshop and 17 Maintenance Unit.

The Open Day will consist of fire power demonstrations, airborne demonstrations and a mechanised attack demonstration that showcase the SA Army level of preparedness.
