Africa day which also falls on the month of May is a period to remind ourselves of the unity African people fought for. This resulted in the attainment of freedom and the respect of for basic human rights.
On this day, South Africa and the rest of the African continent should be reminded of the achievements and also the challenges that continue unabated. Among those are abductions which violate young people’s rights to education, underdevelopment, and suppression of African culture, religion and languages.
The CRL Rights Commission encourages all African to embrace their history, cultural, religious and linguistic heritage, in order to preserve the diminishing heritage.
