Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) rewards excellence

Minister Derek Hanekom will deliver a keynote address at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Excellence Awards, which take place at the CSIR Convention Centre in Pretoria on Friday, 9 November, from 10h30.

Held biennially, the CSIR Excellence Awards are part of the CSIR's broader rewards framework, which is aimed at driving performance and facilitating the retention of key employees by recognising achievements and behaviour that are crucial to the strategy and sustainability of the organisation.

Themed "Worth recognising, worth celebration", the awards celebrate research and development excellence as well as professional support excellence. Categories include a student award, an emerging researcher award, an award for an outstanding contribution by a team, an outstanding impact award, and the CEO's award.

The CSIR's strength lies in its human capital base and the Excellence Awards therefore celebrate top achievers and highlight the important contribution of science, engineering and technology to improving lives.

All media are invited.
