The fesitve season is a time when prisoners long for home, with most constantly and secretly plotting darring escapes. As a result, the Department of Correctional Services will launch its Operation Vala (Lockdown), with a specific focus on notorious centres like Pollsmoor. Members of the media are hereby invited to witness this initiative, aimed at ensuring that South Africans are safe from crime as they spend time with their beloved ones.
The lock down will take place at Pollsmoor Correctional Facility at 10h00 today, 24th November 2015.
