Compensation Fund Commissioner Vuyo Mafata meets medical service providers, 18 Oct

The Compensation Fund (CF) Commissioner, Vuyo Mafata is to meet with medical service providers at the East London Golf Club tomorrow (October 18) evening.
 
The purpose of the dinner is to engage the medical service providers on the challenges they face when dealing with the Compensation Fund and the proposed solutions. 
 
The engagement with the medical service providers is part of the Commissioner’s engagement with its broader stakeholders. The Commissioner has recently been meeting nationally with Chambers of Commerce and Industry to advocate issues of mutual interest, especially in relation to compliance with the compensation for occupational injuries and diseases act (COIDA).
 
The Compensation Fund is a public entity under the administration of Department of Labour. The Fund’s mandate is to administer the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. The main objective of the Act is to provide compensation for disablement caused by occupational injuries or diseases sustained or contracted by workers, or for death resulting from such injuries or diseases, and provide for matters connected therewith.
