Communication Authority holds workshop on ICT sector data collection system, 29 Sept

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) aims to be the authoritative source of ICT sector statistics and data to consumers, government, industry and other stakeholders. To achieve this, ICASA wishes to design and implement an ICT sector data collection system. This system will replace the multiple reports requirements currently required of licensees.

Phase 1 of this project involves the design of the questionnaire and collection of necessary indicators to cover:

  • ITU requirements that the Authority is obliged to collect
  • Measurement of progress towards achievement of SA Connect: Broadband Policy requirements, and
  • Other indicators that measure the performance of the sector.

ICASA has appointed BMI-T to design and implement an ICT sector questionnaire, validate industry submissions and prepare a report on the performance of the sector. BMI-T will be engaging with you in due course regarding the project. We would therefore greatly appreciate your participation.

As part of the project, Authority invites you to the workshop on the 29th September 2015 from 9h00 – 12h00 at:
ICASA, Block C, Presentation Room, Pinmill Farm, 164 Katherine Street, Sandton

The Authority has entered into a Non-Disclosure Agreement with BMI-T and all information collected as part of this project may only be used for the purpose for which it was provided.
