The Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture will over the next two days hold public hearings on the South African Language Practitioners’ Council Bill.
The bill seeks, among others, to provide for the establishment of the South African Language Practitioners’ Council and to provide for the objects, powers, duties and functions of the council.
The bill will also regulate the training of language practitioners. The committee will receive presentations from various language bodies as well as individual language practitioners.
