The Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs will tomorrow receive a briefing from the Department of Home Affairs on the new Immigration Regulations. The Committee has noted the ongoing media debate on the regulations and made an undertaking during the budget approval process to engage the department further.
This meeting will afford the Committee the opportunity to understand reasons informing the review of the regulations as well as understand areas of consternation with a view of resolving such challenges. Furthermore, the Committee will get a progress report on the state of readiness to implement these regulations.
