Commission hold public hearings to resolve disputes

The Commission on Traditional Leadership Disputes and Claims in the North West is to hold public hearings at Rankelenyane and Maboloka villages in Bojanala Platinum District to engage community members following disputes lodged on behalf of Baphalane ba Rankelenyane and Bataung ba Hlalela traditional communities.

Rankelenyane community members are disputing the current headsman Mantsha Letlapa as the wrongful successor to Ramabelo Letlape who has since passed on in 2002, while in Maboloka village, the headsman has registered an elevation status claim from headmanship to senior traditional leader of Bataung ba Hlalele.

The hearings will take place as follows:
