The Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA) in partnership with National Youth Development Agency will host Youth Empowerment Workshop. The workshop serves as a platform for youth structures to interact, gain knowledge of different kind of skills available and network with government and private sector institutions.
The learning sessions will also expose participating youth structures to business and work opportunities available in both public and private sector institutions. The 2013 Youth Month is celebrated under theme “Working Together for Youth Development and a Drug Free South Africa”.
As part of the job creation strategy; the department and municipalities have successfully implemented intake of internship, experiential learners and youth voluntary programmes. These programmes are intended to provide the youth with opportunities for the enhancement of their skills and gain work experience or exposure to different kind of skills.
