Celebrating Youth Month in Free State

The Department of Police, Roads and Transport, SAPS, Department of Education and the Department of Social Development will be celebrating Youth Month on the 14th June 2013 at Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo under the national theme “Working with the Youth towards socio – economic freedom”. The event will start at 10h00.

During the celebration people from vulnerable groups particularly children and elderly from rural communities will be given some food parcels, bicycles and blankets. The main purpose is to reach out and provide support to the vulnerable groups in our society who are in need of care.

Encourage the adoption of holistic approach in provision of services to children from poor background by not only focusing on short term intervention but also sustainable ones that would have long term benefits for both children and their families and to promote protection of children`s rights to education and a better life and attending to their immediate needs. Offer immediate support to the elderly people particularly those who are in a process of receiving social grants and have no source of income and those raising grandchildren and struggle to make ends meet.

All departments involved would like to invite all media representatives to the event.
