Transport Minister, Honourable Dipuo Peters, together with Northern Cape MECs for Transport, Safety and Liaison and Education, Honourable Barbara Bartlet and Honourable Grizelda Chikiella-Lecholo will spend a filled day with learners and youth from the Colesburg, Noupoort and surrounding areas of the province during an Aviation Career Expo and Exhibition to be held on Friday, 22 August 2014.
Through the Career Expo and Exhibition, the Minister and the provincial leadership will share extensive information with the learners regarding careers in aviation, but also in relation to other transport modes, namely roads, rail, maritime and even in relation to public transport.
About 2 000 secondary school learners and youth from the Colesburg, Noupoort and surrounding areas will benefit from the Career Expo and Exhibition, the intension being to encourage them to consider careers in aviation and the transport sector broadly
As part of the Career Expo and Exhibition, the South African Air Force (SAAF) and the South African Police Service (SAPS) will perform mini air shows for the learners and youth using a chopper and fixed wing airplane.
