Unsigned and up and coming live bands in Gauteng are once again being invited to take advantage of the massive opportunity to elevate their music careers through the Puisano Live Music project, by participating in the ongoing auditions held in venues across the province.
Organised by the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, auditions for the music project kicked off in Tshwane and Johannesburg this past weekend, affording scores of bands with the opportunity to demonstrate their talents in front of judges for a chance to move on to the next level of the project.
The Puisano Live Music Project is aimed at promoting live music performances in communities, while providing a platform for emerging bands to showcase their talents as well as offer them market access and opportunities to tour the province and establish their brand.
Bands that will be selected from the audition process will participate in a range of live performance showcases that will be hosted at various live venues throughout Gauteng in dates still to be announced.
To qualify interested groups should meet the following criterion: Consist of no less than 4 members; members to be between the ages of 18 and 35; be out of school; be based in Gauteng; not signed to any recording company; received formal or informal music training; and not previously participated in Puisano as individuals and/or band members.
