Botchabela String Orchestra to perform one night only

“The hills are alive with the sound of music”

These are the opening words of the Rogers and Hammerstein musical, The Sound of Music, set in the mountains of Austria.

The Botchabela String Orchestra lived that dream from 1 to 16 December 2012 in Austria, Lichtenstein and Germany, performing works from Shostakovich Chamber Symphony, Telemann Viola Concert with Prof. Klaus Christa as viola soloist and the Corelli Christmas Concerto. The second half of the concert consisted of popular African peaces.

The Orchestra had the privilege to perform in legendary concert halls, churches and modern schools to standing ovations.

The Botchabela String Orchestra, conducted by Peter Guy, will perform the same program for one night only in Bloemfontein, to entertain crowds and showcase the local talent the province has to offer.

The performance is as follows:

Date: 29 January 2013
Time: 19h30
Venue: Odeion Hall UFS
Tickets: Free

Your media house is invited to cover the event.
