The Commissioner of the Border Management Authority (BMA), Dr Mike Masiapato will lead a meeting to engage with the UNHCR Assistant High Commissioner for Protection (AHC-P) Ms. Ruvendrini Menikdiwela at Beit Bridge Port of Entry on Wednesday, 7 February 2024. The aim is to discuss BMA activities and opportunities to further strengthen work in promoting international and humanitarian laws.
UNHCR - the UN Refugee Agency formerly known as the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for people forced to flee their homes because of conflict and persecution.
Assistant Commissioner Menikdiwela is in South Africa for High-Level Dialogues. The meeting will provide for a shared understanding of the port operations using fact-based data and analysis.
