Basic Education Ministry to visit Gauteng and North West schools as part of provincial school readiness visits

The Minister and Deputy Minister of Basic Education will tomorrow, Wednesday 17 January 2017 visit schools in Gauteng and the North West as part of the Departments School Readiness and #backtoschool oversight and monitoring visits.

At the beginning of each academic calendar the Department of Basic Education officials assess the state of readiness of schools across the country in order to advance any form of assistance from the earliest possible point in the year.

The visits will also focus on amongst other aspects the delivery of LTSM (Learner and Teacher Support Material), adherence to teaching and learning from the 1st day of school including a meeting with school management teams to assess challenges and entrench the school improvement programs from the first day of school.

Minister Motshekga: Hebron Technical High School, Machadam Farm School in Mooi Nooi and Madikete High School in Maboloka

The Minister will visit several schools in the Madibeng area starting at The Hebron Technical High school. She will then move on to the Machadam Farm School in Mooi Nooi, followed by Madikete High School in Maboloka. The Minister will end her visit to the Madibeng area by engaging with education stakeholders at the Letlhabile Community Hall to hear about educational successes and challenges in the area.
