The Department of Basic Education (DBE) is hosting a Learner Road Safety Seminar to solicit corporate citizens to partner with the Department in order to assist with funding for rolling out a comprehensive road safety education programme nationally. This seminar will be hosted on Tuesday, 30 of June 2015, at DBE Conference Centre, 222 Struben Street, Pretoria.
The Department is of the view that a broader consultative meeting with all relevant stakeholders should be concluded In order to address learner pedestrian safety in a more holistic and integrated manner.
Delegates are expected to debate amongst others the relevancy of programmes implemented thus far, new prevention strategies to be considered for implementation and to investigate possible partnership support towards implementation of a variety programmes to address pedestrian safety.
Guest speakers are from the Department of Transport, Global Road Safety Partnership, SANRAL and the RTMC.
