Having started this leg of the roadshow on Tuesday 23 June 2015 in Witbank and moved onto Nongoma in KwaZulu-Natal today, the Department of Basic Education will continue its drive to Eradicate Adult Illiteracy across the country. The Kha Ri Gude roadshow will move onto Phuthaditjhaba in the Free State on Sunday 28 June and Giyani in Limpopo on Monday 29 June 2015.
The Kha Ri Gude Programme is the departments response to the call of the Freedom Charter which declared that, “The Doors of Learning and Culture Shall be Opened!” The Charter specifically called for the eradication of adult illiteracy.
