Basic Education and Cricket SA hand over a mobile kitchen and cricket facility to Rabana Primary in Ventersdorp, 25 Oct

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) through its flagship programme the National School Nutrition Programme (NSNP), has partnered with Cricket South Africa (CSA) in an effort to help farm schools in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district. The partnership will culminate in the handing over of a mobile kitchen and cricket facility to Rabana Primary School in Klipplaatdrif, Ventersdorp in North West on Friday, 25 October 2019.

This partnership between the department and CSA has also yielded a commitment by CSA to adopt all the Farm schools in the area and provide them with cricket facilities.  The local farmers under the banner of SenWes will also donate seedlings to Rabana Primary and other farm schools in the area.  

The handover event will be graced by Dr. Granville Whittle, the DBE’s Acting Director – General, Mr. Thabang Moroe, the CEO of Cricket SA, Mr. Francois Strydom, the Chief Executive of North West Cricket Association and the Dr Kenneth Kaunda education district Director Mr. Benny Monale.
