Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Commission to host Annual Skills Development Conference

The Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Commission will be hosting its Annual conference under the theme: “Skills Development: What is at stake?” This year’s conference will be held virtually on Zoom platform. The focus of the conference, i.e. “Skills Development”, is one of the key aspects of sustained transformation and a key consideration of the National Development Plan (NDP).  

The purpose of the conference is to create a dialogue on advancing skills development as one of the priority elements within the B-BBEE Act. Speakers and panellists of the conference will consist of representatives from diverse areas of training and development, inclusive of Organs of State, Public entities, Private Sector, SETAs, Associations and NGOs, amongst others.

Speakers will share insights on the following:

  • The value and benefit of investing in Skills Development for the economy
  • Effective Skills Development for the black youth in rural areas
  • Developing critical skills and unlocking challenges in the implementation
  • A perspective on developing and implementing sustainable Skills Development initiative
