Arts and Culture launches SA/India Festival

The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi invites the media to the launch of the SA/India Festival taking place on Wednesday, 16 July 2014 at the Consulate General of India, Johannesburg.

The year “2014” marks 20 years of diplomatic relations between South Africa and India since the dawn of democracy; and 100 years since the return of Mahatma Gandhi, a human rights global icon.

The Festival also coincides with the celebration of life and values of our liberation struggle icon, Tata Nelson Mandela.

Deputy Minister Mabudafhasi will also announce the programme of activities for the festival.

The Department of Arts and Culture is proud to host India Festival as it demonstrates our tangible commitment to enhance our well established relations.
