AmaNdebele Ndzunza Sokhulumi Traditional Council will on 26 April 2014 hold their annual general meeting (AGM). The AGM is the first ever of the traditional council since the inauguration of Chief Mkhambi Petrus Mahlangu. Chief Mahlangu was officially inaugurated last year after being reinstated as the Senior Traditional Leader of the area by the National Commission on Traditional Leadership Disputes and Claims.
The Traditional Council, as per the Traditional Leadership Legislations is compelled to hold an Annual General Meeting once a year in their Traditional Community to report among others issues pertaining the following:
- Table their Annual Budget
- Income and Expenditure - Usage of the Grant Funding and funding received from other sources
- Projects / Programs initiated and implemented
- Challenges encountered
These reports will be tabled and submitted before the Gauteng MEC of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Ntombi Mekgwe to be elevated to parliament. The department is mandated to provide administrative and political support to the traditional community.
