Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries launches Arbor Week, 3 Sept

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in partnership with Total South Africa will launch the Arbor Week in Durban. The National Arbor Week Campaign is celebrated annually from 1 to 7 September.

This year’s event will be celebrated under the theme, “Forests and People: Investing in a Sustainable Future”. The theme has been adopted from the XIV World Forestry Congress. South Africa will for the first time, host the World Forestry Congress from 7-11 September 2015 at the Durban ICC. This year’s Arbor Week campaign will be a platform to promote the congress which will highlight the value and importance of forests.
