The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation – Directorate Community Sport: Mangaung Metro in partnership with the Department of Social Development, Department of Health and Department of Premier has over the past 4 years staged the Senior Citizens Games (Golden Games) for older persons 60 years and older which is a build up for the eliminations for Provincial games in September 2014.
The three towns Bloemfontein, Botshabelo and Thabanchu (BBT)of Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality will contest on Wednesday, 6 August 2014. About 300 elderly persons will showcase what they are made of. The elderly persons congregating are the best of the best from their towns.
The contest will be of the following codes:

4. Dress Up
5. Goal Shooting
6. Jukskei
7. Passing the Ball
8. Ruby Ball Throw
9. Ring the Stick
10. Pegging Washing Pegs
11. 500 m Brisk Walk
12. 100 m Run
13. 200 m Run
14. 400 m Run
15. 800 m Run
16. 100 m x 4 Relay
