Gauteng to unite in prayer to ensure successful elections

In a bid to ensure peaceful local government elections on 18 May 2011, more than five thousand people from various faiths and denominations will flock to the Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg on Thursday, 12 May 2011 for the Gauteng Interdenominational prayer service to pray for a peaceful poll.

Premier Nomvula Mokonyane is expected to be joined by faith leaders from the South African Council of Churches led by Rev Gift Moerane. Representatives of other faiths such as Islam, Judaism and Bhuddism are also expected to be present at the prayer service.
