Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane, together with the President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Jacob Zuma, will join multitudes of South Africans and fellow brothers and sisters from neighbouring African countries in Celebrating Africa Day on Saturday, 29 May 2010.
Africa Day is officially on 25 May, but this year's celebration has been moved to Saturday to afford the majority of our people an opportunity to observe this day, which comes less than two weeks ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, an African world cup.
For the past 10 years the day has been celebrated with a special marathon concert in Gauteng and this year the event will be hosted at Dries Niemandt Park in Kempton Park.
