Gauteng government mobilising support for the Black Stars of Ghana

The Gauteng provincial government is from today, Wednesday, 30 June, mobilising communities in the province to fly the Ghana flag and support the Ghanaian national team, the Black Stars, before they meet Uruguay in the quarterfinals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Friday, 2 July 2010.

The mobilisation project aims to garner and mobilise support for the Black Stars, the only remaining African team in the world cup. In the context of the African Cup, the province will utilise its resources and communities to ensure that the continent is fully behind the African hope, the Black Stars.

The provincial government's mobilisation campaign will kick-off in Berea,
Johannesburg today before moving on to Sunnyside in Pretoria tomorrow and on Friday, the campaign will target Yeoville in Johannesburg.

The mobilisation efforts will take a format of a formal programme, where messages of support from the Premier, MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will be delivered, handing out of pamphlets, distribution of flags and live entertainment.
