The Gauteng provincial government will celebrate the National Archives Week at the Workers Museum in Newtown on Wednesday 9 May 2012.
This year's Archives Week is celebrated from 7 to 11 May 2012.
Organised under the theme '"Archives for the Past, the Present and the Future" the event is part of week-long activities aimed at providing an opportunity for all to learn about the importance of preserving and saving documented memory or knowledge.
Activities for the day will include exhibitions by Gauteng archives, local authors and the tour of the Workers Museum.
