The Gauteng 2010 World Cup mobilisation roadshow moves to Tshwane from 17 to 23 May. Since the start of the road shows last month, Tshwane is the fifth stop for the campaign scheduled to cover Gauteng’s six regions.
This leg will also see the marking of the 20 days countdown to the World Cup kick-off on Friday, 21 May 2010.
The campaign is an initiative by the Gauteng Provincial Government, in partnership with Transnet and is aimed at mobilising communities to rally behind the national team and contribute towards hosting a successful World Cup. The move will see a Transnet-Gauteng Provincial Government branded truck visiting schools, churches and malls in all regions of the Province until the World Cup kicks off.
Activities during the roadshows will include ball juggling, diski dancing; face painting, five-aside soccer games, appearance by soccer legends and performances by local and top South African artists.
The Tshwane roadshow will also include a Football Friday activity at Church Square in the Pretoria CBD where Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane and MEC Nelisiwe Moerane are expected to participate.
