Funeral arrangements for the late Khoisan leader Dawid Kruiper

The late Khoisan traditional leader who passed away two weeks ago will be laid to rest during an official State funeral at Witdraai in the Kalahari. The funeral is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 30 June, 2012. The late Dawid Kruiper will be reunited with his late wife in the dunes of the Kalahari.
 
The service begins at 10h00 and will be officially opened by the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mr Richard Baloyi accompanied by the Acting Premier of the Northern Cape, Ms Grizelda Cjiekella, MECs Ms Sylvia Lucas and Ms Pauline Williams. Other members from the provincial Cabinet and district as well as local mayors are also expected to attend.
 
Approximately 2 000 mourners from across the country and neighboring Namibia are expected to attend the funeral. Included amongst the mourners are traditional leaders, dignitaries from Assmang Mine, SANParks and the Northern Cape House of Traditional Leaders.

On Saturday, 30 June 2012 all Provincial and National flags are expected to fly half-mast as a token of respect and honor to the deceased traditional leader.
 
Members of the media are invited to cover the proceedings. Only accredited media will be allowed to attend.
