Full service schools to be handed over

The Mpumalanga Department of Education will this Saturday, 14 May 2011 handover the full service schools in Mattafin namely John Mdluli Primary and Cyril Clarke Secondary Schools.

These are the state of the art schools standing adjacent to Mbombela Stadium and they consist of 20 classrooms, computer centres, libraries, laboratories, kitchens, sport facilities, adequate toilets, electricity, water supply and are properly fenced.

About 1 300 learners stand to benefit from both schools and they add impetus on our quest to alleviate overcrowding in schools around Mbombela at the same time provide an enabling environment for the enhancement of teaching and learning.

At the occasion of the sod turning event on 3 December 2009 the MEC for education said, “Mattafin will no longer be the same again because the children will wholly benefit from being at school and as such all such social ills which were in one way or the other bedeviling this community resulting from the challenge of not having decent schools will cease to exist.

The children in this community will enjoy learning in a way that learner drop out will be a thing of the past, there will be improved learner performance and levels of motivation will be enhanced.”

The Saturday event will be graced by the MEC for education, Mrs Reginah Mhaule, senior officials from government, Ms Mpumalanga, Mpumi Lephoko, Donny and activities of the day will be broadcast live in all provincial community radio stations with Ligwalagwala making live crossings.

The media is invited.
