Free State province launches the Free State Sport Confederation and celebrates athletes and team's achievements

The Minister of Sport and Recreation, Reverend Makhenkesi Stofile, and the MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation in the Free State, Mr Dan Kgothule will be officially launching the Free State Sport Confederation and also celebrating the achievements of Free State athletes and teams, on Friday, 15 January 2010 in Bloemfontein.

Also attending the event, will be Caster Semenya, the world 800 metres (female) champion who will be conducting coaching clinics with her Coach, Mr Michael Seme after the formal event.

The Free State Sport Confederation is the controlling body of sport in the province and is constituted by all sport federations as well as local and district municipal sport councils in the province.

The athletes and teams’ celebrations are intended to acknowledge the excellence and resilience in sport. The provincial celebrations will culminate into a national celebration to be held by March 2010.
