Tomorrow, South Africa's National Ambassador for Women's Health and one of the country's first ladies, Thobeka Mabhija-Zuma will visit Themba Lethu HIV clinic based at Helen Joseph Hospital in Westdene.
The clinic which is one of the largest HIV treatment sites in the country is a partnership between the Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development, the University of Witwatersrand and Rights to Care.
There is an increased risk of cervical cancer in HIV positive women and the first lady who is committed to the educational campaign against this form of cancer will be talking to patients encouraging them to screen so they can be treated early.
