The North West Disaster Management Centre will in partnership with the National Disaster Management Centre, conduct a two-day consultative workshop to engage fire services’ stakeholders in reviewing the legislation and framework for fire services in the province.
The Fire Brigade Board resolved in 2007 that the Fire Brigade Services Act, 1987 (Act 99 of 1987) (FBSA) be reviewed as it is no longer relevant to the current scope of fire services.
The workshop is to intended give the fire services cartel an opportunity to contribute towards the development of a new fire service policy and legislation. The workshop is targets both private and public fire service practitioners.
