Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan will meet chief executives and chairmen of banks on Monday, 31 May 2010. The Minister made this commitment during his budget speech in Parliament earlier this year.
Issues to be discussed include:
- Recommendations of the Banking Enquiry Panel of the Competition Commission
- International developments on financial regulatory reform
- Remuneration practices and incentive structures in banks
- Credit extension trends
- Financial access and transformation.
There will be a photo opportunity at the start of the meeting.
