Farewell function for the post-graduate students leaving for China

Members of the media are invited to the gala dinner in honour of the 15 post-graduate students who are going to pursue post-graduate studies in Agronomy, Agricultural Economics and Aquaculture at various universities in the People’s Republic of China.

The students, drawn from the national Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), Provincial Agricultural departments and ordinary members of the public, have been undergoing a comprehensive orientation programme which started on 9 August and will end on 11 August 2011.

The students pursuing a Masters Degree will spend two years while the ones pursuing a PhD degree will be away for three years at various prestigious universities in the People’s Republic of China. 

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ms Tina Joemat-Pettersson, will deliver the keynote address and wish the students well in their studies.
