Eyethu sonke le Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) national campaign in KwaZulu-Natal

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), in conjunction with the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, Department of Economic Development and Tourism will host the KwaZulu-Natal leg of the eyethu sonke le B-BBEE campaign, with two workshops on 14 and 16 September 2009.

The campaign includes provincial workshops across the nine provinces. The first two, in the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga respectively, have already been undertaken. The KwaZulu-Natal workshops will take place as follows:

Venue: Ladysmith Town Hall Murchison Street

The national campaign is an interactive BEE second economy intervention that seeks to educate market and communicate the Codes of Good Practice and transformation in the second and mainstream economy. It also aims to equip small business entrepreneurs with the requisite knowledge of their rights in terms of beneficiation under the codes.

The dti's group of specialised, regulatory and financial development agencies will be available to assist participants in accessing funding, and other products and services on offer by the department.
