Primary Health Care (PHC) is set for a major boost when the European Union donates some 126 million Euros to be used to improve access to public health services through PHC.
The cash injection is expected to produce the following outcomes:
- Increased access to PHC
- Improved quality of PHC
- Improved capacity management of PHC facilities
- Improved maternal and child in line with the department's programme of reducing maternal and infant mortality.
The European Union Commissioner for Developmet Mr Andries Piebalgs will be making a making commitment to the Minister of Health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi at the event scheduled to take place in Mamelodi (Tshwane) tomorrow.
Members of the media are invited to the event that will also be addressed by Dr Mamphele Ramphele, a respected activist of PHC and development.
