Soon after taking over the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB), Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale put rescue measures in place to turn around the institution. This followed a series of disturbing events with potential to erode corporate governance within the institution and the industry.
Minister Sexwale is now inviting stakeholders for a two day summit to map out a shared and inclusive future for the industry.
To ensure that the EAAB plays a role to realise integrated and cohesive settlements, the following thematic areas will be explored in greater detail at the summit:
- Redefining the role and mandate of the EAAB
- Creating an inclusive and integrated Estate Agency Industry
- Transforming the Estate Agency Industry as a key economic driver to stimulate growth and development
- Developing a sharpened research and development programme.
