Emerging entrepreneurs with disabilities workshop

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Western Cape Provincial Advisory Board in partnership with the Disability Workshop Development Enterprise (DWDE) will today launch a joint project aimed at assisting young emerging entrepreneurs with disabilities develop their own businesses and be part of a growing economy.

The project is launched as part of DWDE and the NYDA’s drive to support young people to participate in the country’s mainstream economy. Since inception two years ago, the NYDA has facilitated youth access to business funding to the value of R64, 4 million to youth owned enterprises, supporting 31, 000 young entrepreneurs with business loan finance.

Through the emerging entrepreneurs project for youth with disabilities a number of young people will be trained in business development by the NYDA. DWDE is a non-government communication (NGO) based in the Western Cape working towards the economic empowerment of persons with disabilities, through employment and entrepreneurships.
